Garamerica, South Melbourne

Indonesian that’s about as authentic as you’ll get in Melbourne. Except the chickens they use here have the benefit of modern food technologies to make them grow up bigger and stronger than their Jakarta counterparts.

Ayam Goreng: deep fried skin on the outside, reasonably moist flesh. The sambal chilli is mild but flavour packed.

Ayam Goreng Balado: the same deep fried chicken with a red chilli salsa on top.

Ayam Bakar

Beef rendang

Batagor: fried fish dumplings smothered with a tasty peanut satay sauce.

Ice Cendol

This place is in my cheap eat rotation. Delicious.

4 / 5 yums!
