AB Hotel

Ancient Briton it most certainly ain’t. Whilst it retains an old man’s pub frontage, it’s Gen Y at heart. By that I mean the inside has been reno-ed up be more late 20th century but parts remain in ye olde times. Grub takes an each way bet on Western and Asian, with the fare from the latter continent the more appealing of the two. Thai style beef salad lovely, seared and slightly charred on grill, perfectly cooked, a sweet and tangy fish sauce dressing the mixed greens. Twice cooked duck with mushrooms buttery soft on a bed of sautéed bok choy, salt and pepper soft shell crab, crisp and absence of excess fat addictive seasoned with spicy salt mix garnished with a spring onion and chilli. If you don’t stray from the recommended options on the menu, AB Hotel isn’t a bad dinner call for all in.
