The menu is filled with most of the normal Hong Kong style rice and noodles, but unfortunately the BBQed pork seems more steamed then baked. Roast pork fares much better, the skin crisp and crunchy though lacks seasoning. There’s a coogee purist amongst the wait staff, asking for vinegar could be met with some level of disbelief at the thought of tainting the wet sludge rice mixed with fish or lean pork and 1000 year egg. Honkies and Malaysian Chinese don’t see eye to eye on the use of the condiment.
They might be able to get away with the colour but not the food. With Supper Inn and Pacific House not far away, there’s no shortage of better options.
2 / 5 yums!
