Pho Hung

People of Preston won’t have to go too far to get a taste of Saigon, with Pho Hung on High Street. It’s fine for what it is, but you can get better elsewhere. Pho beef soup noodles is light in flavour and lacks depth, the salt and pepper squid’s batter is floury but the seasoning is good. Beef cube tomato rice is disappointing, the only thing differentiating the grains from the norm is the colour with the grilled beef a bit tough without taste. The best thing tried was the pork chop and egg on broken rice, the fillet nicely marinaded and coloured in the cooking process. Three colour drink really just 3 colours of the coconut, cendol jelly and red bean kind of boring.

People of Preston, if you want really good Vietnamese, I’d suggest you travel a bit further.
