Hot Pot House doubles as a steam room as soon as the metal pots of either clear or hot soup hit the very hi-tech looking ceramic plates that sit in the middle of each table. Yup, it’s da bin lo, for those without the portable gas stove and who can’t be arsed to cut the meat and buy all the extras to do it themselves. Tick a few boxes on the menu and the kind waiter will arrive back with your pot and meat. Dip those prawns, thin slices of beef, white golf balls of fish, enoki, buk choy, mince and noodles, cook as desired (preferably cooked all the way through), dip again in sesame or satay and consume. It’s a pretty fresh and healthy way to eat so with all the effort of cooking and sitting in the sauna you’ve created, you’ll probably lose a few kilos too.
