Cabinet

“A man date” - two guys meeting for the kind of outing a straight man might reasonably arrange with a woman. What a man date it was as my mate and I dined across each other at this super sleek and sexy, dimly lit venue. I can hear him shrieking now as he reads this. “The weekend is over!”, he’ll cry. It was a hot and steamy night.

Not as hot and steamy as the “snapper en papillotte”, fillet cooked in a parchment of baking paper on a bed of Mediterranean vegetables consisting onion, tomato, capsicum and rosemary. Just cooked through, the aromas from the package wafting through when you cracked it opened. Advice from the manager: don’t eat the paper. You could be forgiven, it’s fairly dark inside. A retro classic chicken kiev is rolled in a rich, buttery, crunchy crumbs resting on cheesed cauliflower. The meat was moist as the pesto provided some depth to the dish. Leaving me to think this place is date worthy, whoever it may be with.

3 / 5 yums!
