Hunter Connection – Rice Designer and Mikaru

Jingle your pockets, plenty of loose change. Check it, thank goodness it’s gold. Near Wynyard Station, need a quick, cheap lunch. Here, everything is as cheap and nasty as Courtney Love, but a whole lot tastier.

I’m still astounded by the value at Hunter Connection, as Asian vendors jostle in a price war for competing customers. For under $6.50, you’ll get 4 choices plus rice from the day’s Korean selection, such as plum sauce pork and kimchi chicken, in a neatly packaged container separating each dish. Yum… Go there after 1:30pm and the prices drop to a staggering $3.50. Next door is Mikaru, equally good value. I always add the extra dollar, parting with $7 for extra meat on the Katsu-Don, Oyako Don and Curry-Don. The ramen, whilst no where near the best in Sydney, is commendable for this part of town. Better than Wagamama’s but that’s not saying much. Many places to try here, and well worth it. Beware, seating at this food court is difficult, but with such a high turnover, the wait won’t be long.

3 / 5 yums!
