Peko Peko

South Melbourne. Need food fast. Jump car park ramp. Cross road. This Taiwanese place is happening. Lucky to get table. Waiter says fried meals are quick. Damn… box meals looked a treat. 5 minutes later, steaming bowl of shredded satay beef and egg fried rice – mild chilli, Indonesian style. Others are standard, beware oiliness. Accompanying sesame soy dressing perks up dishes. Too much rich Jap mayo smothered over prawn. Pay manager, leave.

Pop goes the chicken, the boxes at $10 are value and this super tasty too. Juicy pieces of thigh are lightly coated in a crumb and spice mixture then deep fried off for a taste sensation that really does pop in the mouth. After it’s gone, I just want more. Move over KFC popcorn chicken, there’s a new kid in town.
