First Taste

Feels like a Chinese herbal medicine clinic when you read the menu with such items as Coconut and Herbs Stewed Crocodile Soup, Ginseng Stewed Black Chicken Soup. Interesting flavours, with some typical of those Chinese brews which smell and feel like they’ll rot your insides but leaves you with a healthy feeling afterwards. I quite liked the Pear Stewed Pork Soup, a safe pairing of pork with that sweet ripe fruit and other Chinese herbs. Less adventurous are the selection of claypots. It’s a fine balancing act to avoid the 1st degree burns to your tongue as you try to spoon yourself the rice, whilst constantly mixing the earthen bowl so its contents doesn’t over char. The XO fish fillet had a mildly spicy bite, whilst the rest are what you’d expect, tasty without being overly stimulating.

2.5 / 5 yums!
